Tying Glass Bead Flies

Using glass beads on fly patterns has now stood the test in catching fish for more than a decade.  I am very blessed to report that the book has done well enough to go into a third printing.  The book is well illustrated with color photos of tools, a glass bead chart, tying steps and most of all, beautiful fly plates photographed by Jim Schollmeyer and Alec Jackson.  Whether you are a beginning or advanced fly tyer this book provides new insights of using a unique material for fly tying and most of all they catch fish!  I was attracted to use beads because of the light shining elements of glass.  There are many types of finishes in glass beads such as silverlined, transparent, translucent, pearl, metallic, etc.  The beads come five different sizes to fit on hooks ranging from size 20 to 2/0.  Don't be fooled by the hard critics that say fish reject flies with glass beads because of the hard surface.  This is non-sense as most of the time you end up hooking the fish anyway!  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Tying Glass Beads Flies is available in paper back from
Frank Amato Publications
 for $19.95.

You can also order a signed copy from me, price is the same, plus shipping.  I also have a few of the hardcase spiral bound, first edition, for $50.
